Car airbags need to be controlled to protect children and shorter people riding in the front seats. "Advanced Air bags" have been mandated by Congress, and once developed, they will be safe for women and children, but the deadline for their development is set at 2012. In the US, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) considers car air bags to be especially dangerous to children, shorter people, and those with medical conditions such as Osteoporosis, Tinnitus, Crones Disease, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, or who have had heart surgery (to name a few) and will give a letter of permission for an airbag switch to those who apply. Until "Advanced" car airbags are developed, Airbag On Off Switches can be essential for safety and to eliminate the airbag danger to children.
